| Madhura |
Present here is the Bhautic elements of 'Jalam' and 'Prithvi'. The predominant taste is 'sweet'. There is a pacifying effect on Vata and Pitta, whereas Kapha gets increased. |
| Amla |
'Sour' in taste. 'Agni' and 'Jalam' compose its Bhautic character. Pitta and Kapha tend to increase. Vata however, decreases. |
| Lavana |
It is ruled by 'Agni' and 'Prithvi'. The nature is 'Saline'. While Pitta and Kapha increases, there is pacification of Vata. |
| Katu |
The overruling taste is 'Pungent'. Its Bhautic character is made up of 'Vayu' and 'Agni'. Vata and Pitta is on the rise. Kapha is pacified. |
| Tikta |
It is 'Bitter' in taste. The predominant Bhautic effect is of 'Vayu' and 'Akasa'. Vata is on the increase. Both Pitta and Kapha decrease. |
| Kasaya |
'Vayu' and 'Prithvi' are its ruling Bhautic elements. The taste is 'Astringent'. Pitta and Kapha are pacified, while Vata is aggravated. |
